Meet Maïté Delafin
Maïté Delafin is an award-winning osteopath dedicated to providing personal and nurturing osteopathic care for all ages. She believes in a healthcare approach that goes beyond addressing symptoms, much like the trusted family doctor of days past who knew and cared for entire families throughout their lives.
From newborns to the elderly, Maïté provides nurturing, gentle, and holistic osteopathic treatment, with a special emphasis on antenatal and postnatal care, C-section scar therapy, and pediatric osteopathy.
Maïté’s practice is built on active listening and empathy. She works collaboratively with each individual to develop empowering, personalised treatment and management plans. By truly understanding your specific goals and context, she helps you regain comfort and participate fully in the activities you love. Her methods are informed by contemporary evidence and integrate a range of approaches. These include osteopathic manual therapy (structural, cranial, & visceral techniques), education, pain management, tailored exercise and movement recommendations, self-care, lifestyle advice, and mindfulness strategies.
Maïté's versatile background significantly enriches her osteopathic practice. Before becoming an osteopath, she honed her understanding of the human body and movement as a professional contemporary dancer, teacher, and performer. She also developed her therapeutic touch as a sports massage therapist (holding an ITEC 3 Diploma). This diverse experience, coupled with an MSc in Dance Science from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London), allows her to offer a truly integrated approach to well-being.
Academically, Maïté earned her Master of Osteopathy with Distinction from the University College of Osteopathy (London) and furthered her expertise with a Postgraduate Certificate in Paediatric Musculoskeletal Healthcare with Distinction from the Health Sciences University. She is also trained and licensed to carry out the Mummy MOT®, having studied with some of the UK’s leading pelvic health physiotherapists, Maria Eliott and Hannah Poulton. Additionally, she is a specialist in C-section/Abdominal scar therapy, having trained with UK’s leading scar specialists Emma Holly at Restore Scar Therapy and Hannah Poulton at HLP therapy. Maïté is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).
Being half French and Uruguayan, Maïté is fluent in French, English, and Spanish, making her compassionate care accessible to a broader community.
When not in the clinic, Maïté loves spending time with her husband and two young boys, enjoying nature, baking, dancing the Argentine Tango, and polyphonic singing.
Why Choose Osteopathy?
Maite Delafin - The Family Osteopath is dedicated to providing osteopathic care for all ages, with a special focus on antenatal and postnatal care, c-section scar therapy, and pediatric osteopathy. Our practice is committed to promoting holistic health and well-being for the entire family.
Osteopathy is a safe, effective approach to preventing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of health concerns—helping you move better, feel better, and live better.
Osteopaths are highly trained healthcare professionals who focus on the musculoskeletal system (your muscles, joints, and soft tissues) and how it affects your overall health. They look at your whole body—not just the symptoms—to understand the root cause of your issue.
Personalised Care That Puts You First
Your osteopath will take the time to understand your individual history, lifestyle, and needs. This allows them to create a personalised treatment plan that supports your recovery and helps you stay well in the long term.
They use a variety of gentle, hands-on techniques to release tension, improve mobility, and restore balance in the body. You may also receive tailored advice on posture, exercise, and general well-being to complement your treatment.
Trusted Professionals
Osteopaths are trained to identify when further investigation or referral is needed, and they work closely with other healthcare providers when appropriate—so you’re always in safe hands.
You don’t need a referral from your GP to book an appointment with an osteopath.
All UK osteopaths must be registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), which ensures they meet strict professional standards and continue to develop their skills through ongoing education.
